About

photograph of artist tara strubing in her studio.

tara strübing is a melbourne-based artist whose work explores vulnerability, choas, innocence, trauma and healing.

painting since early childhood, she uses art as both anchor and compass, navigating deeply personal themes with honesty and emotional grit.

her current multi-medium practice consists of oils, acrylics, texture pastes, charcoal and pan pastel - allowing her to embrace spontaneity over perfection.

tara's work invites its viewer to confront themselves, offering both solace and discomfort through bold and unflinching visual storytelling.

life is hard and beautiful and everchanging.
if you feel lost, then you are lucky.
it is there in the unknown where magic happens.
i create my best work in that place. spinning in a circle with my eyes wide open. i can see every direction spanning out from under my feet. all of the paths i didn't take/ could take/ will take.
once you go, so too does the magic.
